The process is for adults who are unbaptized or adults baptized in another Christian denomination. There are four stages to the process:
Precatechumenate: it is a time to introduce the person of Jesus Christ, the Gospel message and values, and an opportunity to grow in faith.
Catechumenate: this time nurtures the person as he or she grows in understanding of the faith and for continued conversion to God.
Purification and Enlightment: this is usually during the Season of Lent and allows for greater reflection and a deepening of the spiritual life.
Mystagogy: this takes place during the Easter Season to experience full integration to the Christian community with continued formation.
After Mystagogy, St. Edward offers a fifth stage Neophytes, allowing the newly baptized to spend time diving deeper into the Word (scripture) and fostering community.
In addition to the formation process through the different stages, participants also enjoy of prayer experiences as well as fellowship and community-building opportunities.
