Family Faith Formation is based on the framework promulgated in 2013 by Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston. The curriculum will be divided into four units that address specific themes or topics:
Unit 1- Jesus Christ
Unit 2- Prayer and Sacraments
Unit 3- Morality
Unit 4- Missionary Discipleship
Family Faith Formation- digital is a home-based model of formation designed for adults who have children in grades Pk4-12th. We highly encourage adults who register for this model to have access to a Catholic Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and to the United States Catechism for Adults. We will supply digital versions of all three. Student books will be provided for the children and teens registered in the formation model.
Since faith formation is home-based, all parents with children and teens registered in this model will recieve a weekly email on Sundays at 2 pm. The email will focus on the catechetical theme for the week. It will offer formation for the adults so that in turn the adults can form the children and teens at home. These emails are designed to provide support and extra resources to bring the faith alive at home.
Parents will attend unit reviews digitally. These zoom meetings are offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The objective of these unit reviews is to give the adults opportunity to debrief the material learned and their experiences as they grow in faith at home with other parents. Small Group Leaders accompany the parents in their small group as well as offer support, as needed. The schedule for the digital parent unit review sessions are:
Week of September 27- Pick up books and materials in the Parish Life Center
Week of October 4- introduction/orientation
Week of October 18- unit 1 review
Week of November 15- unit 2 review
Week of December 13- unit 3 review
Week of January 31- Circle of Grace review
Week of March 21- unit 4 review
Week of April 11- end of year review
