To promote and encourage the spiritual growth of the parish community to join hands in reaching out to all including those most in need of God's help. The Pastoral Council is a ministry of service, which interprets the needs of the parish and develops recommendations for action through prayerful discernment and consensus under the direction and guidance of the Pastor.

• We will draw upon the values and diverse backgrounds, talents and cultural experiences of all God's people to assist the Pastor in reaching more souls, touching people's hearts and helping them to answer God's call.

• Our parish community will provide friendship to each other and to our own neighborhood communities and through our actions and words, we will keep the fire of God's love burning.

• Our church and school will be cohesive in their efforts through their social ministry work to reach out to those who have been left behind and in assisting the continuing call to conversion, the call for all to be Disciples of Christ.

• We will support the growth of family life as a "little church" which produces lay shepherds, pastoral shepherds and a ready supply of young people who are willing to answer the call to the priesthood and to other religious vocations.

• We will understand the needs of existing and new ministries and support them through our gifts of time, talent and treasure.

• We will plan for the growth of the St. Edward Parish Community and assure that the necessary space and accommodations are in place so that no one is turned away.
