Ministry Leaders for sacrament preparation
All adult parishioners who are well formed in the Catholic faith, and have a desire to share their love of the sacraments with the teens of the parish are encouraged to prayerfully consider serving in the leadership team for Confirmation for teens and the Retreat Team for the 2026 process.
Adults who join the leadership team serve teens in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade depending on the needs of our parish community. Ask God if He is calling you to serve in this ministry and be open to what God is asking you to do.
Formation for teen and their parent and sponsor
The preparation process will include at-home activities and spiritual experiences for the teen to interact with the parent and/or Sponsor. Additionally, some sessions at the parish will include the parent and/or Sponsor.
Retreat
All teens preparing for the sacrament must have a retreat experience. St. Edward will offer a weekend retreat for all candidates as part of the process. Information will be provided at the interview.
Service
Service is a lifestyle. Teens are expected to already be active in the community serving through works of mercy and parish life. Additionally, we will offer experiences for the teens to serve the local church and community.
Safe Environment
Reminder, all adults (parents and sponsors) participating in the process are highly encouraged to complete the online safe environment training prior to attending formation sessions. Please use this link (click here) to create an account and attend the digital training.
