  • Welcome

St. Edward Children's Ministry recognizes the value and importance of family life in the faith journey of a child.  The events and spiritual experiences we offer aim to support family life and serve children as they draw closer to the Lord.

We offer a variety of opportunities for our children because their spiritual needs are diverse and, sometimes, unique.  Below you will find information on what we offer.

Children's Ministry thrives when parents and other adult parishioners take ownership of this ministry and are willing to walk with the children and their families. Relational ministry and accompaniment are at the heart of this ministry.  Prayerfully consider getting involved with us!

  • Faith Formation and Sacrament Preparation

    Faith Formation
The children of our parish have two options from which to choose when it comes to their formation. Sunday's option is based on a more traditional setting of weekly gatherings in small groups with same-age peers. Home-based option offers a flex schedule with family gatherings. Please visit our Family Faith Formation page for all the details and to register for your preferred option.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Sacrament Preparation
This sacrament preparation process is open to children in 2nd grade or above who meet the requirements and desire to go through the process. Please visit the First Reconciliation and First Eucharist sacrament preparation page for all the details.

Children's Liturgy of the Word- takes place every 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month during the 9:30 a. m. Mass with the exception of Christmas Day and Easter Sunday should they fall on a 2nd or 4th Sunday.  This is open for children in Kinder-3rd grade (5-8 years old).  This is a year-round ministry, and we need more adult and teen ministers to continue to provide this as a spiritual experience to our young parishioners.

Vacation Bible School- this week-long event that gathers in the morning, provides children dynamic and engaging opportunities for them to grow in the faith, develop a strong relationship with Jesus, and build community. This event happens the second week in June every summer.

Easter Egg Hunt- this event takes place on Divine Mercy Sunday before the 5 pm Mass.

All Saints' Day Parade- this is an annual event before the 7 p. m. Mass on November 1st, which is a Holy Day of Obligation. Children can dress up as their favorite saint for Mass and participate in the parade before Mass begins.

Christmas Program- this happens during the Christmas Vigil Mass, and it is for children, their families, and all parishioners who attend this Mass.
