St. Edward Children's Ministry recognizes the value and importance of family life in the faith journey of a child. The events and spiritual experiences we offer aim to support family life, serve the children as they draw closer to the Lord.
We offer a variety of opportunities for our children since their spiritual needs are diverse and sometimes, unique. Below you will find information on what we offer!
Children's Ministry thrives when parents and other adult parishioners take ownership of this ministry and are willing to walk with the children and their families. Relational ministry and accompaniment are at the heart of this ministry. Prayerfully consider getting involved with us!
Faith Formation
The children of our parish have two options to choose from when it comes to their formation. Sunday's option is based on a more traditional setting of weekly gatherings in a classroom and Wednesday's option is based on a flex schedule and family gatherings. Please check out our Family Faith Formation page for all the details and to register for your preferred option.
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Sacrament Preparation
This sacrament preparation process is open to children in 2nd grade or above who meet the requirements and desire to go through the process. Please visit the First Reconciliation and First Eucharist sacrament preparation page for all the details.
Children's Liturgy of the Word- takes place every 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month during the 9:30 am Mass with the exception if Christmas Day or Easter Sunday fall on a 2nd or 4th Sunday. This is open for children in Pk-1st grade (3-6 years old). This is a yearly ministry and we need more adult ministers to continue to provide this as a spiritual experience to the little parishiones of our community. Please email Anthony Hernandez if you are interested and called to be a CLOW Ministry Leader.
Christmas Program- this happens during the 4 pm Christmas Vigil Mass and it is for children, their families, and all parishioners who attend this Mass!
Vacation Bible School- this week of fun and faith provides an opportunity for our young parishioners to sing, play, be with their peers and learn about the faith in dynamic ways.
All Saints' Day Parade- this is an annual event before the 7 pm Mass on November 1st, which is a Holy Day of Obligation. Children can dress up as their favorite saint for Mass and participate in the parade before it begins.
