Dear Parishioners,
The readings this weekend speak about God's call and people's response. In the first reading the youthful Samuel, already dedicated to the service of God, is called by God in a way unknown to him before this point in his life. The Psalm also shares the theme of call as the psalmist describes the anticipation of, and the response to, God's call. St. Paul speaks about one aspect of responding to God's call: the use of our human bodies in the process of drawing closer to the Lord Jesus. The Gospel account is the call and response of Jesus' first disciples. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the wonderful gifts you have given me for Christmas and New Year's. I really feel loved! And feeling loved, I believe, is the best gift a pastor can receive from his parishioners. I cannot say it enough - I am so blessed to be here in Spring as pastor of St. Edward Catholic Community.
I will continue to pray for the grace to be who God wants me to be as His minister to you His wonderful people. It is clear to me that you are all God's gift to me, and I am grateful
May God continue to bless our community as we continue to grow in our lives as followers of Jesus Christ.
In Christ,
Fr. Christian.
