Adult Faith Formation is based on the framework promulgated in 2013 by Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston. The curriculum will be divided into four units that address specific themes or topics:
Unit 1- Jesus Christ
Unit 2- Prayer and Sacraments
Unit 3- Morality
Unit 4- Missionary Discipleship
Adult Faith Formation- digital is a home-based model of formation designed for adults who do not have children at home or whose children are between the ages of 0-3 or out of the home. We highly encourage adults who register for this model to have access to a Catholic Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and to the United States Catechism for Adults. We will supply digital versions of all three.
Since faith formation is
home-based, all adults registered in this model will recieve a weekly email on Sundays at 2 pm. The email will focus on the catechetical theme for the week.
Adults will
attend unit reviews digitally. These zoom meetings are offered on (scheduled) Thursdays from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. They are designed to strengthen community life and give those in formation an opportunity to debrief, ask questions, and discuss in greater depth the topic for each unit. Small Group Leaders accompany the adults in their small group as well as offer support, as needed. The schedule for the digital unit review sessions are:
October 1- introduction/orientation
October 22- unit 1 review
November 19- unit 2 review
December 17- unit 3 review
February 4- check in and overview for unit 4
March 24- unit 4 review
April 15- end of year review
